Community First Initiative CIC (CFI CIC) is a proactive, community-driven project dedicated to addressing current and future challenges faced by our community, residents, and young people. Our motto, ‘From the Community, For the Community,’ guides our every action.
Wolverhampton, a dynamic city, is grappling with high levels of antisocial behaviour, unemployment, poverty, debt, and serious issues related to gangs and drugs. Our core mission is to empower young people and residents to set up and run their own businesses, inspired by our belief: ‘Today's Entrepreneur, Tomorrow's Employer.’
However, we recognize that not everyone is ready or confident to start their own business. To bridge this gap, we offer training in trades such as plumbing, bricklaying, plastering, and motor mechanics. These trades have a high demand, making participants more employable and providing opportunities for self-employment.
Our strategy is built on a four-pronged approach:
Supporting Business Start-ups: Helping young people and residents to set up businesses based on their interests, skills, and hobbies.
Existing Business Opportunities: Providing access to proven business opportunities within our organization.
Trade Skills Training: Offering training in essential trades like bricklaying, plumbing, plastering, and motor mechanics.
Raising Wolverhampton’s Profile: Organising city-wide events to attract people from across the country, and local events to support small businesses and raise their profiles.
We aim to reduce unemployment and debt, decrease antisocial behaviour, and prevent young people from falling into the gang and drug culture. By making the community safer and enabling local businesses to thrive, we create stronger, more resilient communities.
