Community First is a voluntary project, made up of volunteers who are working to improve the community lives of residents and young people.
Our motto is 'from the community, for the community'. We want you influence our delivery, what's needed, what's not happening, how can this project best serve the community? You inform our agenda. Along with this we have an offer.
We want to put on community based projects, I.e. Health related workshops, alternative education
(OCN based courses as well as industry standard qualifications). A key element of our offer will be to support young people in the community, with the ever-decreasing funding and variety of opportunities/ places to go available for young people. We would like to set up and run a number of projects I.e. Social/ business enterprise projects - we will support young people gain the necessary skills to harness skills and interests and turn these into business opportunities. It's using skill sets and interests, adding commercial tools as well as business aptitude and knowledge, giving the participant the knowledge, skills and tools to enable them to turn their idea into a business. We would like to support them in this too, by providing a small grant and or resources/equipment.
We would also like to provide diversionary activities, youth club and activities to engage young people and progress them onto programmes and projects that we will set up and facilitate. As well as advice and guidance, sign posting and preparing members for employment etc.
We are volunteers with limited to no funding any help would be very welcome, funding and or resources.
